Pavilhão Mozart promotes the social inclusion of inmates by inviting them to participate in creating an opera, together with prison guards, family members and friends, and in managing the new area inside the prison for the performing arts, which will be managed by the inmates themselves. Entitled PAVILHÃO MOZART – Só Zerlina ou Così fan tutte?, this project is the second stage of the Ópera na Prisão: D. Giovanni 1003-Leporello 2015 initiative created by SAMP – Sociedade Artística Musical dos Pousos (Pousos Music School), at the Leiria Prison. Ópera na Prisão implemented an artistic creation process of an opera with inmates, an experiment on which the ideas for Pavilhão Mozart are based. The funding from Portugal Inovação Social allocated to Pavilhão Mozart will be used to implement the second stage of the project.
