This project aims at implementing a multifaceted model to support informal carers based on the Carers Trust model, which has already been tested and validated in the United Kingdom. Intervention consists of providing informal care services, namely: advice and guidance, support groups, short breaks for the carer to rest, training/capacity-building to care with confidence (including home care) and other complementary activities that can help with care (social and leisure activities, medical and non-medical services, etc.). These activities are part of an integrated solution for improving the lives of informal carers and of people who care for a family member or friend, to help reduce social isolation, relieve the burden and empower carers. The project also seeks to raise public awareness on the issue, encouraging the engagement of public and private partners and of the community, fostering volunteer work that includes former informal carers.
